DATA INVENTORY

Enterprise networks can resemble the Wild West when it comes to spatial data. Any number of factors - from the beginning and ending of projects to changes in staff - can lead to uncertainty on the availability of data across the network. Even more important, it makes discerning what data remains healthy that much harder.

With Marco Desktop's Data Inventory tools, your organization will finally have a handle on the Layer Files, ArcGIS Map Documents, and more that live on your enterprise system. This knowledge may help fuel decisions made for the reallocation of resources, plans put together for data migration, or the encouragement needed to fix those pesky data reference issues plaguing your documents.

REPAIR BROKEN DATA SOURCES
REMAPPING

Have you been plagued with broken links ever since spatial data was moved to a different drive? Undergoing a big spatial data move and want to safeguard against such a sticky situation?

Tools within Marco Desktop - formerly known as Repoint and Repath - are designed to not only find those ArcGIS Map Documents that contain broken data references, but also to sniff out the current locations of those files for easy clean-up. Specialized features allow you to redefine these paths in a central location referred to as a Remap File, further automating spatial data fixes as well as providing a record of changes made for your own peace of mind.

FILE MODIFICATION
REVISION MADE SIMPLE
FILE MODIFICATION

Seemingly small changes to ArcGIS Map Documents often turn out to be more involved than we wish. This is especially true when the same correction to a setting needs to be made more than once.

To save you from performing tedious tasks more than necessary, Marco Desktop's File Modification tools allow you to edit ArcGIS version compatibility for ArcGIS Map Documents, quickly toggle between absolute and relative path settings, and even clean ArcGIS Map Documents of broken layers at the click of a button.

Outside of the health of geospatial files, one of the most important components of quality data is its metadata. Updating and editing metadata can be a hassle, often being left as an afterthought.

With Marco Desktop's Metadata tools, metadata thumbnails, keywords, Item Descriptions, and more can be modified and updated seamlessly. Additionally, metadata can be imported and exported from its source to be spruced up outside of the ArcGIS workspace, if desired.
